With all of our focus on exploring, we sometimes forget how much beauty there is right in England. A few weeks ago, we took an impromptu day trip to Seven Sisters National Park, which is an easy drive from London. We parked at South Hill Barn car park (free) and found lovely countryside views before we even started walking.
The walking trails begin directly from the car park. Within a few minutes, you see the view of the cliffs, and even with a 3 year old, the path to the beach is easy.
From the beach, there are trails across fields of sheep and cows, and you can spend all day exploring the nature reserve. Or, you can book a table for an indulgent Sunday roast! The Plough & Harrow is about 15 minutes from where we parked, and it’s the ultimate country pub for families. They have games, colouring books, a huge outdoor space, high chairs, and a kids menu. You should make a reservation if possible, as the pub is extremely popular.
